Smurfs Village Party – Review

We tried Mario Party and love it so much we tried more and more “party” type games like The Smurfs: Village Party, made by the same people who made the Sisters 1 and 2 party games. Once we played this game we loved it too and in my review you’ll find out why!

Smurfs Village Party - Review

Why Smurfs Village Party?

Smurfs Party brings everyone’s favorite little blue heroes into a bright, family-friendly party adventure that’s full of charm, teamwork, and laughs. It’s a colorful mix of minigames, exploration, and cheerful Smurf spirit that feels perfect for younger players or anyone looking for something cozy and lighthearted.

The story begins when the Smurfs decide to throw a huge celebration in their village. To make the party a success, you travel across different areas helping other Smurfs, completing small quests, and collecting items. Along the way, you can meet many familiar faces like Papa Smurf, Smurfette, and Brainy Smurf, each offering fun little tasks.

The game is split into two main parts:

  • Adventure Mode, where you explore and help prepare for the big party.
  • Party Mode, which features dozens of short, fast-paced mini-games that support up to four players locally.

These mini-games include things like cooking challenges, races, memory games, and silly competitions—all simple to learn but fun enough to keep everyone laughing.

Village Party captures the classic Smurfs look beautifully. The bright, cartoon-style graphics make every forest, mushroom house, and character feel lively and warm. The music is upbeat and playful, matching the game’s light tone, while the cheerful sound effects give it an old-school Saturday morning cartoon feel.

How We Test Games

For testing games we use a Nintendo Switch firmware version 2H. Hardware includes Joy-con and Pro controller on a large screen TV. Tests are done with up to 5 players. We take turns playing and evaluating games.

Whenever possible we play multiple players. We also use a Nintendo 2DS, DS XL, and for PC games we use a Ryzen 7 1700x CPU, AMD RX580, running on Win 10. This game is up to 4-players on one Nintendo Switch.

Pros

Cute and colorful visuals full of personality.

Great local multiplayer experience for families.

Easy-to-learn mini-games with lots of variety.

Fun adventure mode that ties everything together.

Perfect for young players or Smurf fans.

Cons

Simple mechanics may feel repetitive for older players.

No online multiplayer option.

Some camera and movement controls can be clunky.

The adventure mode could use more challenge.

Summary

Overall, The Smurfs: Village Party is a bright, wholesome experience that feels like a love letter to classic party games. It doesn’t try to be overly complex—it just wants to make you smile. Whether you’re playing with kids, friends, or by yourself, it’s a cheerful game full of heart and Smurf-y charm. A joyful and lighthearted party adventure that’s perfect for casual fun and family game nights.
