Playing multiplayer Nintendo Switch games is our favorite pastime. We added Cake Bash to our library and thought we’d share our thoughts on it.

This game can be played with up to 4 players locally. Some games advertise 4 player but in reality are only 2 players. The 4 player mode is online, which is usually laggy and unplayable online.

In Cake Bash most mini games are players vs players but there are a few co-op mini games. In our experience, the competitive mini games are light. Meaning you probably won’t lose any friends over any of these mini games.

It’s goofy fun for 4 people sitting on a couch. Cake Bash is accessible for all ages. Kids and grandparents can play too. You don’t need to be a hard core gamer to enjoy this game.

The graphics and colors are well done. Background music is catchy but not over powering. The menu’s are easy to navigate.

Rounds are quick so you go through the all the content in a short time. We found it’s not something we could sit any play for hours, but if you have more than 4 people to switch it up it’s a good party game.

If you’re looking for a party game then Cake Bash is an ideal option. We even had fun selecting our characters. There are many different pastries to choose from. Plus, several choices of colors per pastry.

Everything looks delicious in this game. Well, except the glowing fish bones. From the characters to the setting for every mini game, it looks quite edible. Cake Bash is to baking what Yoshi’s Crafted World is to knitting.

If you like party games made up of many mini games then Cake Bash is a good choice. It doesn’t have as many mini games as most party games. But none of them were a bust. Every mini game is above average.

We’ve played party games with much more content. However, a significant percentage of those mini games were awful in my experience. Not so with this game. A few seemed redundant, but overall we thought every mini game was worth playing.

If you like simple games then Cake Bash is for you. There isn’t any learning curve to these mini games. The controls are simple and don’t change much from one mini game to another. This party game makes for a good party game between friends and family.

Cake Bash is similar to Disney Tsum Tsum Festival, Party Party Time, or Carnival Games. Most of those have more mini games though. But the more games there are the bigger chance some are klinkers.

All of these games are easy to learn and made for 4 players. Every game except Carnival Games has great graphics. Cake Bash and Carnival Games sounded like Overcooked while Tsum Tsum and Party Party Time feature techno music.

The best features of Cake Bash are the graphics. The characters, animations, actions, levels, and menus are top notch. We found playing this game made us hungry.

For as many colors and details in everything, we didn’t think it was too busy. Some games the graphics overwhelm everything and it’s easy to lose characters or see what you’re doing among all the clutter. We did not experience that with this game.

We did not have any problems learning any mini game. The only one we had any trouble with was slapping the bee’s. We figured out how to play easy enough, but actually getting any points was difficult.

The only shortcoming we found was how quickly we went through the content. After 20 minutes we had played every mini game. We prefer longer rounds, but we noticed the lack of content more.

We tested Cake Bash with 4 players, 3 players, 2 players and 1 player. We didn’t find any imbalances from the different number of players.

Our Cake Bash review gives it 7 out of 10 stars. The younger crowd definitely enjoyed it the most in my experience. I enjoyed the games too but they were average. I’d like it better if there was more content.

I can’t say the graphics and sounds were average. Everything looked terrific. All the donuts, pastries, and cakes were very enticing. I loved the silly bonking and sound effects. The ukulele was a nice touch too.

Overall, Cake Bash is a well done game. It’s a welcome addition to our couch game collection. Cake Bash is good for 30 to 45 minutes of fun between our other 4 player Nintendo Switch games.
