Why LEGO Party?

LEGO Party is a colorful and entertaining party game that brings the playful humor and creativity of LEGO into a collection of mini-games. Rather than focusing on one long adventure, the game is designed around short, competitive challenges that players can enjoy together. It is a game that works especially well for people who enjoy multiplayer games and don’t necessarily want to spend hours learning complicated rules or mechanics.

One of the best things about LEGO Party is its variety. Instead of playing the same type of challenge repeatedly, players get to participate in different mini-games that test different skills. Some challenges are about timing and reflexes, while others involve memory, movement, or making quick decisions. This variety helps keep the experience fresh because you never quite know what kind of challenge is coming next.

The LEGO theme is another major strength. The game has the bright, playful appearance that you would expect from a LEGO video game, with colorful environments, silly characters, and plenty of humorous details. The LEGO style works particularly well for a party game because it doesn’t take itself too seriously. Even when you’re competing against your friends, the overall presentation feels cheerful rather than overly competitive.

The multiplayer focus is where LEGO Party really shines. Party games are at their best when everyone in the room can participate, and the game is built around that idea. Competing against friends or family can lead to plenty of funny moments, especially when a player who seems to be winning suddenly loses a mini-game and another player takes the lead.

The short length of the mini-games is also useful. Because individual challenges don’t require a huge time commitment, players can jump into a game, finish a round, and move on to something else. This makes it easy to play for a short period or settle in for a longer game session.

Another positive is that the game is approachable. You don’t need to be an expert at complicated video games to understand the basic idea behind most party-game challenges. This makes it suitable for groups with different levels of gaming experience. Someone who rarely plays video games can still participate alongside someone who plays regularly.

The LEGO humor adds another layer of entertainment. LEGO games have a reputation for using comedy and silly situations, and that personality works well here. The characters and environments can make even simple mini-games more amusing.

However, LEGO Party isn’t perfect. One potential drawback is that the quality and enjoyment of individual mini-games can vary. In a collection of many different challenges, it’s natural that some will be more entertaining than others. Players will probably develop favorites while finding other challenges less exciting.

Another issue is that party games depend heavily on having other people to play with. While a game can still be enjoyable in different ways, the biggest appeal comes from competing against friends and family. Someone primarily looking for a single-player LEGO adventure may not get as much enjoyment from this type of game.

The simplicity that makes the game accessible can also be a disadvantage for experienced players. Once you’ve played a particular mini-game several times, you may become familiar with its mechanics and strategies. Some players may want more depth or complexity than a short party challenge can provide.

There is also the possibility that repeated play can become predictable. After learning which mini-games are included and how they work, some of the surprise disappears. However, playing with different people can help keep things entertaining because every group reacts differently to the challenges.

How We Test Games

For testing games we use a Nintendo Switch firmware version 2H. Hardware includes Joy-con and Pro controller on a large screen TV. Tests are done with up to 5 players. We take turns playing and evaluating games.

Whenever possible we play multiple players. We also use a Nintendo 2DS, DS XL, and for PC games we use a Ryzen 7 1700x CPU, AMD RX580, running on Win 10. This game is up to 4-players on one Nintendo Switch.

Pros

• Fun LEGO-themed party experience
• Large variety of mini-games
• Colorful and cheerful presentation
• Great for playing with friends and family
• Easy for new and experienced gamers to understand
• Short challenges make it easy to play casually
• Funny LEGO-style humor
• Different challenges test different skills
• Good choice for game nights and parties
• Encourages friendly competition

Cons

• Some mini-games are more enjoyable than others
• Best experience depends on having other people to play with
• May not offer enough depth for serious gamers
• Repeated play can make some challenges feel predictable
• Players looking for a traditional LEGO adventure may prefer a different type of game

Summary

LEGO Party is a fun and colorful party game that makes good use of the playful personality of LEGO. Its biggest strength is variety: instead of asking players to learn one complicated game, it gives them a collection of shorter challenges that can be enjoyed together. This makes it especially suitable for families, friends, and casual gaming groups.

The LEGO presentation also gives the game a lot of charm. The colorful environments, humorous characters, and silly situations make the competition feel lighthearted. Even when someone loses, there’s usually something entertaining about what happened.

It isn’t necessarily the game to choose if you’re looking for a deep single-player adventure or a highly strategic experience. Some mini-games may also become less exciting after repeated play. However, those limitations are fairly understandable for a party game.

Overall, LEGO Party is a cheerful and accessible multiplayer game that is best enjoyed with other people. Its variety, colorful LEGO presentation, and easy-to-understand gameplay make it a fun choice for a casual game night. If you enjoy LEGO games and party games, LEGO Party offers a nice combination of both and can provide plenty of laughs when played with friends or family.

Chickadee loves to have family gaming days. She loves birds, unicorns, ponies She also likes the Nancy Drew Games. Why LEGO Ninjago?

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game is an action-adventure game based on the LEGO Ninjago Movie. Like many other LEGO games, it combines exploration, puzzle-solving, and light combat with a humorous tone and colorful LEGO-style visuals. Players take control of a team of ninja heroes as they defend their city from villains and learn to master their ninja abilities.

The story follows the events of the LEGO Ninjago Movie. The peaceful city of Ninjago is constantly threatened by the villainous Lord Garmadon and his army of sharks. A group of young ninjas, including Lloyd, Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane, and Nya, must work together to stop his attacks and protect their home. Along the way, the characters grow stronger, learn teamwork, and develop their skills as ninja warriors.

Each ninja character has unique abilities that help solve puzzles and defeat enemies. Lloyd, the Green Ninja, plays a central role in the story and uses powerful combat moves. Kai specializes in fire attacks, while Jay uses lightning abilities. Cole has strong earth-based powers, Zane uses ice techniques, and Nya controls water. These abilities are used throughout the game to overcome obstacles and unlock new areas.

One of the biggest changes from many earlier LEGO games is the combat system. Instead of simply pressing one button repeatedly, players can perform combos, dodge enemy attacks, and use different moves during battles. Enemies can block attacks or fight back, which encourages players to move around and use strategy during combat. While the system is still simple enough for younger players, it adds more excitement to fights.

Another interesting feature is the Ninjagility movement system. This system allows characters to run along walls, leap across poles, and climb through special obstacle courses. These sections add a sense of speed and action to the platforming gameplay, making movement through levels feel more dynamic than in some previous LEGO games.

The levels are based on different parts of Ninjago City and the surrounding areas. Players travel through busy city streets, rooftops, secret ninja bases, and enemy strongholds. Each location is filled with enemies, puzzles, and collectibles. As in most LEGO games, smashing objects and collecting studs remains a major part of the experience.

In addition to the main story, the game includes large open hub areas where players can explore freely. These areas contain side missions, hidden collectibles, and extra challenges. Players can also unlock many different characters from the Ninjago universe, giving them more options for exploring the game world.

One of the most unique modes in the game is the battle arena mode. This multiplayer feature allows players to compete against each other in various arenas. Different modes include team battles, capture-style challenges, and free-for-all fights. This adds extra replay value and gives players a fun way to compete with friends or family.

Visually, the game stays true to the LEGO style while capturing the colorful energy of the Ninjago world. Buildings, vehicles, and characters are built from LEGO bricks, and the environments are bright and lively. The animation is smooth and the action scenes feel energetic, especially during combat sequences.

The game also features voice acting and cutscenes that recreate moments from the movie. The dialogue often includes playful humor, which is a trademark of LEGO games.

Despite these strengths, the game does have some drawbacks.

One issue is that the gameplay can still become repetitive over time. Even though the combat system is more advanced than older LEGO games, players still spend a lot of time fighting enemies and breaking objects.

The story mode is also relatively short compared to some other LEGO titles. While the open areas and collectibles add extra content, the main storyline can be completed fairly quickly.

Another potential downside is that players who are not familiar with the Ninjago characters may not connect with the story as strongly as fans of the series.

Even with these minor issues, the game remains an exciting and accessible action adventure.

Pros

Fast-paced ninja combat system with combos and dodging.

Unique Ninjagility movement system for climbing and wall-running.

Colorful LEGO environments inspired by Ninjago City.

Large open hub areas with collectibles and side missions.

Multiplayer battle arena modes for extra fun.

Cooperative gameplay that works well for families.

Cons

Combat and gameplay can become repetitive over long play sessions.

The main story mode is somewhat short.

Players unfamiliar with the Ninjago series may feel less connected to the characters.

Summary

Overall, the LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game is a fun action-packed LEGO adventure that focuses on teamwork, ninja skills, and fast-paced combat. The improved fighting mechanics and movement system make it feel more energetic than some earlier LEGO titles. While the story may be short and the gameplay somewhat repetitive, the colorful world, cooperative play, and exciting battles make it an enjoyable experience for fans of LEGO games and ninja adventures alike.

She loves to play as Princess Daisy in the Super Mario Games, Her favorite games change a lot but right they are: Mario Party Superstars, Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Pretty Princess Party.

Why LEGO The Incredibles?

LEGO The Incredibles is an action-adventure game that combines the humor and creativity of LEGO games with the superhero world of The Incredibles movies. Players step into a LEGO version of the Parr family and their allies as they battle villains, solve puzzles, and protect the city. Like many LEGO games, it mixes platforming, light combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving with a playful tone that makes it enjoyable for players of many ages.

The story is based on both The Incredibles and Incredibles 2. Interestingly, the game begins with events from the second movie before going back to retell the story of the first film. This structure allows players to experience the action-packed moments of both movies while following the adventures of the superhero family.

Players control several characters from the Parr family, each with their own special abilities. Mr. Incredible uses his incredible strength to lift heavy objects and smash obstacles. Elastigirl can stretch and reach faraway switches or platforms. Violet can turn invisible and create protective force fields. Dash moves extremely fast, allowing him to run across water or activate speed-based puzzles. Jack-Jack has a variety of unusual powers that can help in different situations.

These different abilities are used to solve puzzles throughout each level. Many areas require switching between characters in order to progress. For example, one puzzle might require Dash’s speed to activate a switch, followed by Mr. Incredible lifting an object, and then Violet protecting the team with a shield.

Combat is also part of the gameplay. Players fight groups of enemies using attacks and special abilities. While the combat is simple, it fits the lighthearted LEGO style and allows players to defeat villains while exploring the environment.

Outside of the story levels, the game includes a large open city area inspired by the movie’s setting. Players can explore different districts, discover collectibles, and complete optional missions. This free-roaming mode adds extra gameplay beyond the main story and encourages players to revisit areas with new characters and abilities.

One enjoyable feature of LEGO games is the large number of characters available to unlock. LEGO The Incredibles includes many characters from the movies as well as other Pixar-inspired characters. Unlocking these characters gives players more abilities to experiment with during exploration.

The visual style captures the bright and colorful look of the films while maintaining the playful LEGO aesthetic. Buildings, vehicles, and characters are all made from LEGO bricks, which gives the world a fun and toy-like feel. The animations are expressive, and the cutscenes recreate famous moments from the movies with LEGO-style humor.

The game also includes cooperative multiplayer. Two players can play together locally, working as a team to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. This cooperative mode makes the game especially enjoyable for families or friends playing together.

However, the game does have some limitations.

One drawback is that the gameplay follows the typical LEGO formula very closely. While this style is fun, players who have played many LEGO games may feel that the gameplay is somewhat familiar or repetitive.

Another issue is that the combat system is fairly simple. Battles with enemies usually involve basic attacks, which can become repetitive over time. Players who prefer more complex action mechanics might find the combat less exciting.

The open city area, while large, can also feel somewhat empty at times. Although there are missions and collectibles scattered around, some parts of the city may feel less detailed compared to the story levels.

Despite these minor issues, the game still delivers a fun superhero adventure.

Summary

Overall, LEGO The Incredibles is an enjoyable action-adventure game that captures the excitement of the superhero family while maintaining the playful charm of LEGO games. LEGO The Incredibles – Review brought to you by Gaming Chickadee

Chickadee loves to have family gaming days. She loves birds, unicorns, ponies She also likes the Nancy Drew Games. She loves to play as Princess Daisy in the Super Mario Games, Her favorite games change a lot but right they are: Mario Party Superstars, Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Pretty Princess Party.

Why LEGO Worlds?

LEGO Worlds is a creative sandbox adventure game that lets players explore, build, and shape entire worlds made out of LEGO bricks. Instead of following a strict story or set of missions, the game focuses on freedom and creativity. Players can travel between different randomly generated worlds, discover new objects, and build almost anything they can imagine using digital LEGO pieces.

The basic idea of the game is simple: explore a universe made of LEGO and unlock tools that allow you to build and modify it. Players begin with limited abilities, but as they explore new planets and complete small tasks for characters they meet, they earn special bricks that unlock new building tools and features.

Exploration plays a big role in the game. Each world is randomly generated and filled with different environments. Some areas may contain forests, deserts, icy mountains, or colorful valleys. As players travel through these locations, they encounter animals, vehicles, characters, and hidden objects that can be discovered and added to their collection.

Once something is discovered, it can often be placed or recreated anywhere in the world. This system encourages players to explore as much as possible so they can gather more building options. Over time, players build a large library of objects they can use when designing their own worlds.

Building is the heart of LEGO Worlds. Players can place individual bricks to create detailed structures, or they can quickly place large objects such as houses, castles, and vehicles. The game includes tools that allow players to reshape terrain as well, meaning mountains, rivers, and entire landscapes can be modified.

For players who enjoy creativity, the building tools are very flexible. Entire towns, fantasy worlds, or imaginative creations can be constructed. Because everything is made from LEGO bricks, the designs can be colorful, playful, and highly customizable.

The game also includes vehicles and creatures that help players travel around their worlds. Characters can ride horses, dragons, motorcycles, helicopters, and many other vehicles. These options make exploration more exciting and help players reach different areas of each map.

Another enjoyable feature is the sense of discovery. When exploring a new world, players never know exactly what they will find. One moment they might discover a pirate ship or hidden treasure, while another moment they might encounter strange creatures or unusual buildings. These surprises keep exploration interesting.

The visual style is bright and cheerful, matching the classic look of LEGO bricks. Environments are colorful and full of playful details. The world feels alive with moving animals, characters wandering around, and interactive objects scattered throughout the landscape.

However, despite its creativity, the game does have some weaknesses.

One challenge is that the controls for building can sometimes feel complicated, especially for new players. Creating large or detailed structures may take time to learn because the building tools require precision and practice.

Another issue is that the game does not provide a strong story or clear long-term goals. While exploration and building are fun, some players may feel unsure about what they should do next. Players who prefer structured gameplay with clear objectives might find the open-ended design less engaging.

Technical issues can also occasionally interrupt gameplay. Some players may notice slower performance when large builds or detailed worlds are created. This can make certain areas feel less smooth during exploration.

Despite these drawbacks, the game succeeds at offering a large playground for creativity.

Pros

Huge open sandbox with lots of creative freedom.

Randomly generated worlds make exploration exciting.

Large variety of objects, characters, animals, and vehicles.

Flexible building tools for designing custom worlds.

Bright and colorful LEGO visual style.

Fun sense of discovery while exploring new planets.

Cons

Building controls can feel complicated at first.

The game has very little story or direction, which may leave some players unsure what to do.

Large builds can sometimes cause performance slowdowns.

Some players may wish for more structured challenges or missions.

Summary

Overall, LEGO Worlds is a creative sandbox experience that captures the imagination and playful spirit of real LEGO building. The game encourages exploration, creativity, and experimentation, allowing players to design their own worlds however they choose. While the lack of clear goals and somewhat tricky building controls may not appeal to everyone, players who enjoy creativity and open-ended gameplay will likely find plenty of fun in this colorful LEGO universe.
