All the games give the players a simple goal. Hit the target. Toss the ring. Sink the ball. Break the stack. The rules are easy to learn and the challenge comes from the play.

Carnival Games offer quick fun for up to 4 players. Most games take only a few minutes. Players don’t need to learn advanced rules or complicated lessons. The mini games use a jump or action button so they can join the action at once.

Players will enjoy the test of skill. Some games also depend on luck. However, most games rely on good timing. This mix keeps each round fresh.

Pros and Cons

One good thing about Carnival Games is there are a lot of games to choose from. They break them down by category. In general the games involve tossing things, races, or shooting gallery stuff.

The bad part is the redundancy. Sure, the games all look different. However, the mechanics underlying most games is the same. There are many different tossing games that use the same power meter to throw things with varying ways to aim.

They recycle the same basic tossing and shooting game for the majority of games. In spite of this, it works well for some mini games. Plus, there are a few unique games that are interesting. The Pig race, Balloon Battle, and Pogo stick stand out as good mini games.

Comparable Games

In my experience, Carnival Games is most comparable to the Sisters series of games, Cakebash, and even Chalkdash Carnival. All are multi player and include quick fun mini games.

Carnival Games has more mini games than the others. Cake Bash has the least amount of games, yet the variety makes up for it. Unlike the others, Carnival Games didn’t have any co op games.

Final Thoughts

Carnival Games adds life to any party game session. It captures the vibe of being at a fair and having fun, without the rigged games. We enjoyed the friendly contest. Each game offers a fun moment with family or friends.

If you remember Carnivals and fairs with fond memories then you’ll like this game. Or if you’ve never been to a Carnival it’s worth checking out. You’ll get the experience of actually winning one of those games.

Overall, it’s a good game considering the price.

The adventure mode is similar to the first game. Random tasks involving some mini games with some dialog advancing the story. The party mode makes all the minigames available for those who want to cut to the chase.

This game is for people who like party games. The adventure mode doesn’t offer much to a solo player. It’s just filler in my opinion. The main appeal of this game is party mode. It offers 24 mini games.

If you’re looking for some four player action then this is worth checking out. It’s definitely better playing with a crowd of rowdy sisters. Light enough nobody that it won’t permanently damage any relationships. Yet, engaging enough to keep everyone’s interest.

Sisters 2 is comparable to Party Party Time, Smurfs Party, or Carnival Games. All fun party games is my opinion. We tend to favor Party Party Time due to the amount of mini games. But Sisters 2 has some favorites too.

Sisters 2 is probably most similar to Smurfs Party. There’s a lot of similarities between the games, cut scenes, and overall vibe. However, Smurfs Party has twice the games.

Sisters 2 is much better than Carnival Games. Carnival Games uses too many of the same games with a different skin. There is diminishing returns with playing Carnival Games. Sisters 2 definitely has more unique games which hold more interest.

Adventure mode isn’t that interesting. The roller skates do speed it up but look funny skating through the sandy beach. Party mode is better, but I wish they included more games.

The summer fun vibe and sibling rivalry adds carries this game. I can’t say why exactly but the game seems just made for sisters.

Our Sisters 2 Road to Fame review gives it 7 out of 10 stars. The sequel is pretty much the same as the first. It’s not as good as Party Party Time, which genuinely has good content every release. Sisters 2 is light on mini games. If you loved Sisters Party Game of the Year, then you’ll like Sisters 2.

The Sisters 2 Road to Fame – Review

The story is about a rivalry between two sisters competing to see who gets to plan an upcoming parity The adventure mode is a single player exploring the sisters environment, doing quests and challenges in the form of minigames. The computer, aka AI players, are predictable and boring. They are too easy or impossible, nothing in between.

Adventure mode is okay for what it is but we were there for the four player action. Which is the better way to play the games in our opinion. Just straight to the mini games.

The people who would enjoy this game the most are looking for a party game. They aren’t going to waste too much time in adventure mode. It is basically pointlessly exploring the house while throwing in a few minigames.

The party mode cuts to the chase making all 24 mini games available for up to four players. They can be played individually, combined to make a tournament, or all around the world which plays all of them.

The party mode is much better than the adventure mode. It offers four player head to head action which is what most people will enjoy from this game. The single player mode is there to putt around in but isn’t a reason to get this game. If you want multiplayer action the party mode won’t disappoint.

Sisters is most comparable to Smurfs Party, Party Party Time and Carnival Games.

Party Party Time has much more games plus co-op games. Sisters seems to focus on the sister theme than overall amount of games.

Carnival Games is closer in style and type of games but we prefer Sisters over Carnival Games. It isn’t quite as good as Party Party Time though.

Smurfs Party is made by the same people who made Sisters and you can tell that the Sisters was a template for Smurfs. They do both offer unique minigames but the systems are the same.

The theme carries this game. It’s a fun sister type of rivalry. This game is full of summer fun, contagious laughter, and good nature competition.

The story mode is lacking. It would have been nice to include a few co-op games but nether the less it’s still fun.

Our Sisters: Party of the Year review doesn’t agree this is the party game of the year, but it isn’t a total bomb either. It offer great minigames that the whole family can enjoy for a while just not hours on end. We give it 8 out of 10 stars.

Not as great as the title suggests, but does provide some good party games.

The Sisters Party of the Year – Review

Slide! Throw! Snow Party Time is the newest edition to a, so far, great series of party games. I was a bit surprised there were only 10 minigames. Most editions in the series have dozens of games. The simplicity of the games is usually made up for by the sheer volume of games included.

Snow Party is a bit different from their usual formula. There were only 10 minigames total, all with a winter or snow theme. The minigames themselves would be at home in any of the Party Party Time editions. The games themselves were great but we had come to expect a larger volume of games included.

It’s hard to be disappointed considering the low price. If you like Party Party Time and winter games then it’s definitely worth checking out.

Anyone who likes party games is going to enjoy Snow Party Time. There’s snowball fights, snowboarding, hockey, and treasure hunt games to name a few. If you enjoy winter themed games then Snow Party is one you should try.

This is an ideal game for anyone who enjoys party games. While you can play solo vs computers, this game is great with 2 or more players. Party Party Time games usually creates a separate class of games as co-op. There’s just 10 games in this version, none were distinctly co-op games.

If you only want co-op games, then Snow Party might not appeal to you. You can choose to help each other in some games if you want, but at the end of the day individual scores determine the winner.

Really Loud Librarians isn’t very difficult to learn. The basic premise is simple and anyone can be good at this game. Our group thoroughly enjoyed playing this game.

We tested this game with 4 and 5 players. We played with a standard Nintendo Switch with a mix of joycons and pro controllers on a 52 inch TV. Having a turbo button definitely gives players an advantage in certain games. For some games, dividing the screen 6 times does make each space fairly small but playable.

Of course Snow Party is like ever other game in the Party Party Time series. Which is also similar to all the Mario Party games, such as Superstars, Jamboree, and all the numbered Mario Party games.

There are more than a few mini games that are identical among all these party games. In some cases, the Mario Party games are better, but in others the Party Party Time games are better. It’s a preference. Mario party has a lot of cut scenes, animations, and flash. While the Party Party Time games are straightforward. Sometimes, less is more.

There are also several unique mini games when comparing the games too. There’s usually a game for everyone. As far as price, the Mario games are extremely expensive for what they are. Whereas the Party Party Time games are affordable. Slide! Throw! Snow Party is reasonable priced for what it is.

My only criticism is the lack of co-op games. Or games overall, for that matter. Party Party Time games are known to come with 20 mini games and 10 co-op games. So to get only 10 snow themed mini games total is a slight let down.

Hockey was great. The snowball fight with each other was fun. The snowball fight with the snowmen was also fun. Downhill snowboarding was great. The penguin race was fun. Building a huge snowball was fun. Sledge hammers on ice was fun. Dodging falling icicles was great. Playing tag on ice was fun. Searching for hidden treasure in the snow was okay.

Overall, our Slide! Throw! Snow Party game review gives it 7 out of 10 stars. We had a great time playing this game. All but one game was a lot of fun, we just wish there were more games!

We’re a bit biased since we love the Party Party Time games, but Snow Party Time is a welcome addition to our gaming library. No regrets.

Mario Party games

We love the Mario Party game series and they have 3 of them for the switch.

• Mario Party Superstars is a collection of past Mario parties games.
• Super Mario Party has different modes like River Survival, Partner Party and other classic modes like just a plain mario party.
• Super Mario Party Jamboree is the sequel to Super Mario Party so the gameplay has some similarities but adding new modes, boards and other twists to Super Mario Party.

Super Mario Party

Released for the Nintendo Switch in 2018, Super Mario Party marked a return to the series’ core board-game format while introducing new twists. Players pick favorite Mario characters, roll dice, move around themed boards, collect stars, and compete in mini-games after each round. The game features four main boards and around 80 mini-games, offering both local multiplayer fun and some solo modes. Unique features such as character-specific dice blocks added strategic variety: each character had a different set of dice icons, making player choice matter more than before. It also introduced new board-game modes like Partner Party, where teams of two play together, and River Survival, a cooperative mode where players work together down a flowing river of mini-games. The visual style is bright and cheerful, with a strong emphasis on family-friendly fun. While the luck factor remains high (as is tradition in Mario Party games), the experience is light, energetic and geared toward multiplayer gatherings.

Mario Party Superstars

Released in 2021 for the Switch, Mario Party Superstars takes a nostalgic turn by celebrating the history of the series. It collects five classic boards from the Nintendo 64 era and remasters them for modern play, along with 100 mini-games drawn from across many past Mario Party titles. The mechanics revisit the classic formula: roll a die, move across the board, collect coins and stars, play a mini-game, and repeat. Notably, unlike its predecessor Super Mario Party, Superstars supports both motion-based and button controls, making it more accessible to a variety of players. Online multiplayer is supported, which boosts its appeal for remote game nights. Essentially, the game is a buffet of Mario Party nostalgia, offering familiar boards with updated visuals and an extensive mini-game library. It’s less about reinventing the wheel and more about refining the classic party experience for modern hardware and players.

Super Mario Party Jamboree

Released in 2024 on the Switch, Super Mario Party Jamboree aims to be the largest entry in the series yet. It features seven game boards (five new boards plus two returning classics) and over 110 mini-games—giving players a vast amount of content. The game expands both its scale and modes: beyond standard board gameplay, it introduces new modes such as Koopathlon (an online mode supporting up to 20 players) and cooperative or competitive side-modes that vary the experience. The roster of playable characters is also larger than previous games, and boards include dynamic features and mechanics that change the way players move and compete. Its ambition is clear: gather a massive party of friends, explore a wide variety of boards and mini-games, and enjoy both local and online multiplayer at large scale. While still rooted in the familiar roll-and-play board game formula of Mario Party, Jamboree adds fresh modes, more character variety, and expanded online capabilities, making it a strong pick for fans who want both quantity and variety in their party game.

Party Party Time games

The Party Party Time game series is cute and a lot of fun to play. We’ve played 1, 2, 3 and the Summer party party time games and enjoyed them a lot.

Party Party Time 1

Released in 2023, Party Party Time is a lighthearted multiplayer party game designed to get groups laughing and competing across dozens of mini-games with ease. Up to six players can join on one console, making it ideal for casual gatherings, game nights, or families. The game features a Free Mode where you pick any mini-game to dive in, and a Party Mode where you string mini-games together in succession to earn points and declare a winner at the end. The mini-games themselves are simple and intuitive—things like shooting water guns, passing bombs, clearing blocks, or aiming cannons—so new players are never overwhelmed. The focus is purely on fun and spontaneity, and the low-barrier controls make it accessible even for non-gamers.

Party Party Time 2

The sequel, released in 2024, builds on the foundation of the first game by adding new modes, character customization, and online play in addition to local multiplayer. You still have the Free Mode and Party Mode, but now there’s also an online mode to play with distant friends, and many of the mini-games incorporate co-operative objectives (not just competitive ones). The trend here is toward more flexibility: you can design your own character avatar, tweak how you play (controllers, motion controls), and invite more players to join via online or local setups. The tone remains casual and party-focused, but there’s a slight push toward longer play sessions, connected play, and bigger parties.

Party Party Time 3

Released in late 2024, Party Party Time 3 further enhances the party game formula by bringing not only a greater number of mini-games (over 30 reported in the core package) but also more co-op-friendly mechanics, an enhanced character-editor, and the option for online matchmaking and leaderboards. The game again supports up to six players locally and improves user experience with better menus, smoother transitions, and more polished visuals. One highlighted feature is the ability to double points in the last game of a session—adding a bit of dramatic finish to an otherwise laid-back experience. It’s clear from the branding that the developers aim for a broader reach: families, friend groups, streaming parties, and casual players who want quick access to fun.

Summer Party Time

Summer Party Time purportedly focuses on outdoor-themed mini-games, beach and poolside settings, and perhaps a more “holiday party” vibe. The idea is similar: a collection of accessible mini-games for multiple players, but with a focus on summer fun—think water balloon tosses, surfboard races, sandcastle builds, and friendly competitions under the sun. Though less documented than the numbered entries, players who pick this up expect more relaxed pacing, bright summer visuals, and a fun backdrop perfect for casual play in warm seasons.

Smurfs Village Party

Smurfs Village Party is a cheerful party adventure, Papa Smurf is organizing a huge celebration in the Smurf Village and enlists everyone’s help. You can play in two major modes: Adventure Mode, where you explore 10 different environments (from the Enchanted Forest to Gargamel’s territory), meet over 100 familiar Smurfs and complete quests to ready the party, and Party Game Mode, where you jump into a collection of 50 mini-games across six categories (sport, quickness, luck, memory, battle, accuracy) with up to four local players. This game is all about fun, family-friendly multiplayer and exploring the Smurfs’ world with a big party feel.

Sonic Rumble

Sonic Rumble is a fast, arena-style multiplayer party game that drops classic Sonic characters into colorful, toy-like battle zones where dozens of players compete in short, chaotic rounds. Matches focus on objectives like collecting rings, surviving eliminations, or scoring the most points in objective-based modes. The controls are simple and accessibility-focused so new players can jump in quickly, while higher-level play rewards map awareness, dash timing, and smart use of stage hazards.

What gives Sonic Rumble its identity is the blend of Sonic speed with large-scale multiplayer mayhem: stages are packed with boost pads, portals, traps, and vertical elements that encourage high-energy movement. Cosmetic customization and emotes let players personalize their characters, and rotating game modes keep the core loop fresh. The game leans heavily on social, match-based fun rather than a deep single-player campaign, so it’s best enjoyed with friends or quick online sessions where the goal is frantic, arcade-style competition.

Disney Tsum Tsum festival

Disney Tsum Tsum Festival brings together Disney and Pixar characters in the cute “Tsum Tsum” style and wraps them up in a party puzzle format. Up to four players can race through minigames in both solo and cooperative settings, using the Switch’s versatility to enjoy playful competition or relaxed puzzle sessions. The characters are all rendered as stackable plush-style tsum tsums, and the minigames vary from puzzle challenges to fast-paced multiplayer fun, making it ideal for casual play with friends or family.

Shawn the Sheep

Based on the beloved stop-motion animated series, Shaun The Sheep Home Farmageddon Party Edition puts you in the woolly hooves of Shaun (and friends) as you help rescue the flock and navigate quirky environments like junk piles, circus tents and more. While its core is a single-player adventure with problem-solving and exploration, it also includes mini-games and puzzle elements that reflect the show’s mischievous and playful tone. The controls use the DS’s touchscreen (in its original release) to solve tasks, unlock areas and guide the sheep back to safety.

Carnival Games

Carnival Games recreates the feel of a lively fairground, packed with a variety of mini-games and attractions that mimic ring tosses, cake stacking, horse racing and more. It’s built for local multiplayer fun, letting players hop from one carnival game to the next in a casual, accessible setting. The visuals are bright and the tone is festive — the idea is less about deep mechanics and more about having laughs and trying different quick-play challenges.

It supports up to 4 local players (and Remote Play Together for PC) and emphasizes fun, easy-to-learn challenges that are perfect for casual gatherings. With vivid visuals and a focus on multiplayer silliness, it’s ideal for quick sessions and friendly competition.

Muddledash

Muddle Dash is a lighthearted party racer built around chaotic short-course sprints, environmental hazards, and playful multiplayer interactions. Players take control of colorful characters (often with quirky movement quirks) and race through whimsical tracks filled with obstacles, jump pads, and stage-specific gimmicks. Races prioritize momentum and improvisation over strict technical skill, so unexpected events and recoveries are common — which makes the game both unpredictable and comical.

The strength of Muddle Dash is its accessibility: rounds are brief, controls are forgiving, and physics-based collisions create hilarious moments where leads evaporate in seconds. Many matches include power-ups or stage items that amplify the chaos, and party-focused modes (free-for-all, teams, and objective variants) let groups tailor the fun. It’s a great pick for casual gatherings, streamers looking for goofy content, or anyone who enjoys slapstick, pick-up-and-play racers that reward laughter more than precision.

Chickadee loves to have family gaming days. She loves birds, unicorns, ponies She also likes the Nancy Drew Games. She loves to play as Princess Daisy in the Super Mario Games, Her favorite games change a lot but right they are: Mario Party Superstars, Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Pretty Princess Magical Garden Island.

So of course we couldn’t resist getting Summer Party Time. For the price, these are great games and this one is no exception. It’s another great multiplayer party game for the Nintendo Switch. Like the others it supports up to 6 local players. The graphics, sounds, and games are no different than the rest of the Party Party Time games.

This one doesn’t have quite as many games as the others, but I’m sure an expansion pack won’t be long. Overall, the mini games included are just as fun as the other Party Party Time mini games. Apart from some character designs I’m not sure what qualifies this game as “summer”. But I haven’t been disappointed by the games or price so I don’t care if the games are summer themed or not.

Because you have a hankering for party games. Summer Party Time has enough mini games to satisfy anyone who enjoys party games. This version has great computer players in case you’re short some players.

If you’re just looking for some fun mini games, then Summer Party Time is a great option. There isn’t any narrative, epic boss fights, or epilogue involved. Which is fine if all you’re looking for is some quick gaming action.

Summer Party Time is a party game. It’s meant to be a quick and easy game to play with friends or family. If you’re looking for uncomplicated game play, quick rounds, and laughs then this game is great for that.

We tested this game with 1 player, 2 players, 3 players, 4 players, 5 players, and 6 players. It was best with 4 players and no computer players. Adding computer players actually lowered our chances of Success!

When we played with 5 or 6 players it was a lot to keep track of on the screen. But there was some improvement over previous versions. Keeping all the players on one large screen helps tremendiously.

When we played with 1 player, many games were fine. There were a lot of co-op games the computer players were no help at all. I had no problem beating the computer players on player vs player games.

Summer Party Time is most similar to Party Party Time 1, 2, and 3 plus their expansion packs. It’s also similar to the Mario Party games such as Super Mario Party, Mario Party Superstars, and Mario Party Jamboree.

Summer Party Time doesn’t have all the glamour and cutscenes as the Mario Party games. But it’s a fraction of the price too. There are many similar games found in both the Mario Party games and Summer Party Time.

The biggest pro is the price. Summery Party Time, as well as the rest of the Party Party Time games, are inexpensive. Their cost is so low it’s hard to pass up. It offers a lot of bang for the buck.

Another plus is the good AI. The computer players aren’t totally awful. I’m not sure if it’s because of the simplicity of the games. But both the enemy and ally players are fairly good.

The only con is a few of the games are klinkers. The climbing game where everyone is attached with a rope is impossible. We’ve only ever seen the finish line a few times.

Some games are really easy while others are extremely hard to successfully finish. It’s a bit inconsistent on that score. Most of the games are still fun, it just seems they could have tested it a bit more.

Our Summer Party Time review gives it 7 out of 10 stars. The freshness of all the mini games after so many versions is impressive. Obviously there are a lot of copycat games from the Mario Party games. But they are still coming up with fun new games after all these variants.

For the price you can’t go wrong. It’s definitely a few bucks worth of fun. I certainly recommend Summer Party Time to any party game session with friends or family.

Overall, it’s a solid addition to the other two games and their expansion packs. For a cheap game it does a good job of providing a lot of entertainment. It has both co-op games and head to head competition for up to 6 people.

As expected, these are games anyone can sit down and play. They couple basic controls with instinctive mini games. Which turns into simple fun for anyone.

Party Party Time 3 includes a few mini games that seem familiar to anyone who has played any Mario Party games. Really, just about any mini-game that exists can be found in one of the Party Party Time games and their expansion packs.

They mix them up enough to keep them interesting. Also , many new games are really fun to play. I can say there were very few klinkers.

As always, the techno music catchy. The player animations are interesting. From what I saw, the graphics are simple but their dance moves are hypnotizing. It’s a very colorful game too.

Party Party Time 3 is as budget friendly as the others in the series. So far there’s just the base game which includes 30 games. I’m sure they will come out with a few expansion packs in the future.

Party Party Time 3 is great for anyone having a bunch of friends over for a good time. If you’re looking for a collection of minigames to play with friends, then this is a good option. We didn’t have to waste any time learning the controls. There’s basically jump, attack, or some action.

if you’re looking for simple games that are fun, then Party Party Time 3 is a good option. The games are clear and obvious for the most part. There are a few exceptions, but the controls are always shown in the top corner.

If you like puzzle, carnival, combat, shooting, racing, sport, card, and survive games then Party Party 3 is an ideal game to try.

Party Party Time 3 is on par with Carnival Games. Honestly, I liked Party Party Time 3 much better than Carnival Games. The Party Party Time 3 games are more diverse and just better in general. After a while Carnival Games comes down to two or three types of games with different skins. Not so with Party Party Time 3.

Party Party Time 3’s appearance and sounds also reminds me of Tsum Tsum Festival. However, Party Party Time 3 has a broader range of games. The co-op games in Party Party Time 3 are also more forgiving than the ones in Tsum Tsum Festival.

Overall, I liked Party Party Time 3 better than Tsum Tsum Festival. Curling could be fun if you didn’t waste so much time watching animations. Don’t even get me started about how awful it is unlocking the same characters over and over in Tsum Tsum Festival.

Party Party Time 3 allows you to unlock a few characters as well as some customization. It cuts out any frills, cut scenes, or nonsense. Just select your game and off you go.

You can’t beat the price. Considering how brutally expensive most Nintendo games are, Party Party Time 3 is a refreshing price point. It’s a good value and many of the mini games are just as the ones in the expensive party games.

A drawback is minigames aren’t something I can play for hours. I would tire of them after 20 to 30 minutes. Switching from game to game keeps the action going for a couple hours. But even after a long session we were ready for something else.

Party Party Time 3 offers many minigames is another advantage. There were enough to keep in the rotation to keep it interesting. I think they also have a better filter for this version. They dropped the math games. We enjoyed every game.

They didn’t do much testing on the co-op games in my opinion. Achieving the success on some games seems impossible. While on others it’s too easy. The games are still fun enough, it’s just frustrating to see that failure screen at the end over and over.

We found there was a game for everyone. Meaning, nobody totally dominated every mini game. There were some games people were naturals at and easily won. Then other games it was a toss up every time. Definitely makes these games worth playing again and again.

Our Party Party Time review gives it 7 out of 10 stars. The freshness of all the mini games in the third version of a game is noteworthy. Many minigame themed games suffer from burn out. Not so with Party Party Time 3, they’re still adding fresh new games.

In fact, I think Party Party Time 3 is an improvement over the 2nd version. We all had our favorites. While Party Party Time 3 hasn’t moved to the top spot in our library, it sure isn’t going to collect much dust either. It’s good filler for those times you’re not sure what game to play and looking for something different.

The Nintendo Switch is an excellent platform for party games. It allows for as many as 8 controllers to be connected. Meaning many players can join in the activity.

We usually play with 4 or 5 players. Any number of players have fun just watching in my experience. Party games on a Switch are as much fun as traditional party games.

If you want to play a new type of party game, then a Nintendo console is a great place to start. There’s plenty of games for all skill levels to enjoy.

The definitive party game, Super Mario Party is one of the best. Up to 4 players can join for a good time.

There are many favorite Mario characters to choose from. Plus, many high quality minigames. You can choose between a game board layout or just play mini games.

Not to be confused with Super Mario Party, Mario Party Superstars is another in the Mario Party Series. While similar to the original game, Superstars is an upgraded version with new mini games and features.

You can play a standard game on a board with dice. Just play mini-games. Or take on a variety of challenges.

Some say Superstars is better, but in my opinion both are so much fun I can’t choose!

This is surprisingly fun party game. Between the catchy music and colorful graphics there’s plenty to keep you engaged. Up to 4 players can join in the fun.

Choose your favorite character from a variety of Disney productions. Then pick a game and get started. Most fall into the category of players vs players or a co-op game. Either way, all are great party games.

The name says it all. Party Party Time is inexpensive but packs a ton of fun activities. Tons of minigames to choose from. No animations or cut scenes to slow down the action.

Just jump right in with up to 6 players! If you’ve ever played Mario Party games or Tsum Tsum’s then a few games will be familiar to you. In some cases I think the Party Party Time games are better than the original.

I never thought I’d see Mario and Sonic face off in a game. Yet, that’s exactly what happens in Mario and Sonic at the Olympics. Everything from Karate, to equestrian, to dream shooting, to standard Olympic games are included.

Many favorite characters from Mario and Sonic are available. If your group of friends is more than 4, then the rest can watch. The rounds are quick enough for players to tag team so everyone can have fond memories.

This game reminds me of the 1980’s Summer and Winter Olympic games. It’s a good collection of different games found at the Olympics.

This party game is as much fun for a group as it is for a single player. It’s a unique game centered around shapes. The shapes are used to solve puzzles, move objects, or compete in events.

There’s co-op games or player vs player action to keep everyone interested. In larger groups of people, the observers love to interject advice or tips.

For a simple game it’s unexpectedly engaging. The puzzles aren’t too frustrating and the competition doesn’t require a high skill level as to put people off. It’s a basic game the entire family, young or old, can enjoy.

Speaking of fun for the whole family, Shawn the Sheep movie is hilariously good. So is the video game! This party game has two modes. A story mode or mini game mode. Both are amazing party games!

In my experience, the main campaign takes several sessions to finish. While the mini-games are playable over and over. The story mode is mostly figuring out puzzles as you progress through the levels. It’s similar to the movie.

While the mini-games are centered around player vs player action, plus a few co-op games. The survival games are total chaos. Yet, the competitive games are as good as many standalone games, looking at you Mario Strikers!

Not the first game that comes to mind when thinking of party games, Moving Out has some excellent offerings. There are two collections of mini games: the VHS Superstore and the Arcade. Each offers several different games to choose from.

Although you need to play in story mode to unlock all the mini games. It’s totally worth it in my opinion. Boulder Dash or Rake Island elicit laughs every time.

The sequel, Moving Out 2 also offers several mini games in the Arcade. Playing the levels adds a fun twist too!

While this game may not fit everyone’s definition of a party game, it’s a hit at any party. There is no single-player mode or online play, so it can only be played in multiplayer mode.

It’s a mad dash to see who can deliver a birthday package to the party first. However, no two courses are the same. Each level is randomly generated so nobody knows the layout.

There’s plenty of bonking, tripping, and zany racing happening on every level. We always have a great time playing this game!

Another game some may object to calling a party game, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has some hidden gems of mini games. I’m referring to the battle mode games: Balloon Battle, Coin Runners, Bomb Blast, Renegade Roundup and Shine Thief.

These are great party games. While there’s a steep learning curve to racing in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Not so with the battle modes. Anyone can grab their joy-con controllers and have fun.

These games are fun for all skill levels. While we enjoy board games and card games too, the Switch provides another activity to do as a family.

The Nintendo Switch has many party games to offer. In my experience their party games are the best.
