One of the most exciting aspect about Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 is the freedom it gives players to let their creativity run wild. I never thought there’d be ways to surpass the second game. Yet, designing intricate rollercoasters that twist and turn through the sky is awesome. Creating even more elaborate themed areas within the park is also possible. Players can customize every aspect of their park, from the layout of the paths to the decorations and landscaping.

For anyone who enjoys customizing their park, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 is a must have game. It’s almost too much customization for my taste. But I appreciate how thorough out all the different themes are. I love the dinosaur themed lights, benches, and decorations.

The upgraded graphics and immersive sound effects make players feel like they are actually running a real-life amusement park. Watching the guests ride the rollercoasters and enjoy the various attractions is great fun.

Also, the game’s dynamic weather effects and day/night cycle add an extra level of realism to the experience. The entertainers are better than ever. Even the guests puking is more detailed. Everything is hilarious to watch.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 really captures everything exciting about the first two games and builds on it. There are a variety of scenarios and challenges for players to complete.

From building a park from scratch and attracting a certain number of guests to achieving a specific park rating, there’s loads of new goals for you to enjoy. As always, it comes down to players carefully managing their park’s finances, researching new rides and attractions, and keeping their guests happy in order to succeed.

The 3D map is definitely easier to move around and view than the previous games. It takes getting used to but I prefer this new navigation. You have total control over the camera view.

It makes building a lot better since you don’t have to turn on or off the trees, rides, or layers as much. Simply alter the camera view for a better viewing angle.

One feature continued from the second version of the game is the ability to ride the rollercoasters and other attractions in a first-person view. Obviously, CoasterCam graphics are bigger and better than the previous version.

In addition to the single-player mode, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 also offers a multiplayer mode where players can compete against each other in building the best park. This adds a competitive element to the game and allows players to showcase their creativity and park management skills.

Although I have to admit, the multiplayer mode isn’t very exciting. It’s more about finding out how other people play the game.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 is the sheer amount of creative freedom it gives players. It takes the basics from the original and expands on them. From designing thrilling roller coasters to building exciting attractions and landscaping the park to perfection, players have the opportunity to create their dream amusement park from scratch.

Rollercoaster Tycoon II also offers a variety of challenging scenarios and objectives to complete. Many more than the original game. There are levels starting from almost nothing. To levels where you take over a complete park.

The goals change throughout the levels, which means you get to explore different strategies for making a park a success. Something possible in the first game but necessary in the sequel.

Whether you’re tasked with achieving a certain park rating, attracting a certain number of guests, or reaching a specific level of profitability, Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 switches up the goals to keep it interesting.

In addition to the main campaign mode, Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 also includes a sandbox mode. A feature I wish was in the original but grateful in the follow up. This mode allows you to relax and build without any limitations. Unlimited time and money to just have fun.

There aren’t any objectives either. Meaning you can set personal goals or just play for the fun of it. I found you can have fun just building food or retail space without any rides. I’ve built mazes and obstacle courses too. It’s fun to explore the game in ways it wasn’t intended.

Another highlight of Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 is the ability to ride the attractions you’ve created. I wasn’t expecting this feature, yet it’s thrilling to view a rollercoaster, or any ride, in the first person.

It gives you insight to the strengths and weaknesses of any ride. Being able to implement changes and immediately see improvements adds an extra layer of fun to the game.

Overall, Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 is a timeless classic that I still enjoy to this day. It has a lot of charm, creativity, and addictive gameplay. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a longtime fan of the series or a newcomer looking for a fun simulation game to sink your teeth into, Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 provides hours of entertainment.

I never thought running virtual amusement parks would be so fun!

I still like the original the best. RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 & 3 are fun too. However, I enjoy the simplicity of the first one. While the sequels added better coasters, themes, and extra stuff. The original remains a classic Tycoon game.

Other Tycoon games, such as Zoo Tycoon or DQ Tycoon aren’t as good either. Although DQ Tycoon is fun in a different way. I just prefer the original RollerCoaster Tycoon over all of them.

My favorite is opening up a new park with a blank slate. I’m not as creative as the prebuilt parks. But I still prefer the bare bones beginnings.

Building rollercoasters is not an easy process. It took some time for me to get the hang of it. The prebuilt coasters you could download were always better than mine.

In fact, one of the best features of the game is the ability to download prebuilt coasters. I also used many of them for inspiration when building my own.

Mostly, I enjoyed building the park as a whole. Most parks only need 2 or 3 coasters anyway. Arraigning all the attractions, food stands, and walkways is fun too.

None of my parks ever came close to the built in ones, but they were fun to build nonetheless.

Growing the park to it’s limits within the time period is always the goal. Whether it was measured by money, visitors, or awards the result was the same. Satisfaction at the completion of another level.

I never thought I’d have so much fun at a game based on construction. Yet, building rides, stores, or even bathrooms turns out to be a lot of fun. Placing a bathroom near the exit of a rollercoaster is a necessity.

Not having a bathroom near the exit of a rollercoaster is hilarious too. At least until the complaints start coming in. It’s details like those that really make the game fun.

RollerCoaster Tycoon is over 25 years old, which definitely falls in the classic category. For an old game it’s still very entertaining. It captures the essence of running a theme park.

Growing a theme park requires managing finances, being in charge of staffing, advertising, and research to develop better rides. Besides building rollercoasters there’s plenty to keep you busy. Instead of being overwhelming, it turns out to be a very engaging game.

Whether you need get it on Steam, have an older computer, or use an emulator, install Rollercoaster and have fun! Even though it’s on older game, it still a great game!
