Sonic X Shadow Generations is basically the same as Sonic Generations other than a few changes like updated graphics, different voice actors and added Chao to rescue throughout all of the levels. Plus an extra mode about Shadow.

However Sonic Generations for the Nintendo 2Ds/3Ds have different levels based on the handheld Sonic games like Sonic Advance and more. Other than that, it’s the same as Sonic Generations.

Why Sonic Generations?

Who doesn’t love a classic Sonic platformer game? This game combines how Modern Sonic games works and classic ones. Each world has two stages, one being with modern sonic and the other with classic sonic.

At the start of the game, it’s Sonic’s birthday party but then Eggman shows ups and ruins it! He also breaks the world with Time Eater so Sonic and Sonic must fix it all and rescue everyone as well.

This mix of gameplay feels fresh and makes each stage feel like a new adventure. The controls are responsive, making both styles satisfying to play, while the variety of levels offers something for every fan.

The visuals are stunning, with each level meticulously recreated with new detail and smooth animations. Revisiting iconic zones like Green Hill Zone and Chemical Plant is a joy, as the design respects the original environments while adding updated textures, lighting, and depth.

How We Test Games

For testing games we use a Nintendo Switch firmware version 2H. Hardware includes Joy-con and Pro controller on a large screen TV. Tests are done with up to 5 players. We take turns playing and evaluating games. This game is only 1-player though

Whenever possible we play multiple players. We also use a Nintendo 2DS, DS XL, and for PC games we use a Ryzen 7 1700x CPU, AMD RX580, running on Win 10.
