Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland Review
We recently added Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland to our collection of games. This board game for family and friends was more fun than I imagined. Based on the picture on the box it’s a kids game based on the popular kids story. Which it is.
It’s a small board game with several cardboard pieces, cards, and coins. I mean who wouldn’t think this is a cute game? There’s growing and shrinking, The White Rabbit, Getting stuck, Cakes, but no tea. Anyone who loves the Alice in Wonderland book would like this game.
Why This Game?
This game is for kids ages 6 and up who like Alice in Wonderland. They’ll enjoy the spinner, collecting cakes, and moving their pieces. If they can play Candyland or Sorry, then this game isn’t too hard for them.
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland has a few simple rules so it’s easy to learn. It may seem complicated at first but after a turn or two we picked it up quickly.

How Does Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland Compare to Similar Games
It’s comparable to Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, or Sorry! in my opinion. These games have simple rules, easy gameplay, and kid based themes. They are simple enough for younger children but also require some memory skills.
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is a much smaller board compared to other games. We found out you go around the board several times per game. What the board lacks in size it makes up for in diversity. The characters have a standard size and a large size to avoid being stuck in the hole.
It’s not played like the others but all are fun kids games. If you like them then you should give this game a try.
Pros and Cons of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
The best parts of this game are the colorful characters, cakes, cards, and coins. The addition of two sizes of characters is also an unexpected bonus. You have to earn the large size, you can’t just choose it. All the pieces and parts definitely kept it interesting.
The worst part is the small board size. Sure a larger board means repeating the same events and squares. But the small board did feel a bit odd after a few games. With 4 players we were a bit crowded. A larger board would have been better for us.
Summary
For this review, we give Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland 7 out of 10 stars. For a kids game it turned out to be more fun than I anticipated. Like most kids games they get a bit redundant quickly. But we had a great time while it lasted.
Alice in Wonderland is an old story, but the colorful style was refreshing. The many pieces, simple rules, and changing characters made it a fun board game for kids. I can see how kids who love the story would like this game.

I’m David M. I’ve been playing video games a long time, my pong game was fire. Now, my kids run circles around me but we always have a good time. We mostly play party and family games. Strategy and battle games are still among my favorites. I like writing about games almost as much as I do playing them. My favorite games are: Moving Out 2, Out of Space and Overcooked All You Can Eat.
