LEGO Worlds – Review

LEGO Worlds is one of the best funniest LEGO games ever! LEGO The Incredibles is also another one. Anyway in the game you can build your own LEGO world, avatar and just goof around! In my review for the game you can learn more.

Why LEGO Worlds?

LEGO Worlds is a creative sandbox adventure game that lets players explore, build, and shape entire worlds made out of LEGO bricks. Instead of following a strict story or set of missions, the game focuses on freedom and creativity. Players can travel between different randomly generated worlds, discover new objects, and build almost anything they can imagine using digital LEGO pieces.

The basic idea of the game is simple: explore a universe made of LEGO and unlock tools that allow you to build and modify it. Players begin with limited abilities, but as they explore new planets and complete small tasks for characters they meet, they earn special bricks that unlock new building tools and features.

Exploration plays a big role in the game. Each world is randomly generated and filled with different environments. Some areas may contain forests, deserts, icy mountains, or colorful valleys. As players travel through these locations, they encounter animals, vehicles, characters, and hidden objects that can be discovered and added to their collection.

Once something is discovered, it can often be placed or recreated anywhere in the world. This system encourages players to explore as much as possible so they can gather more building options. Over time, players build a large library of objects they can use when designing their own worlds.

Building is the heart of LEGO Worlds. Players can place individual bricks to create detailed structures, or they can quickly place large objects such as houses, castles, and vehicles. The game includes tools that allow players to reshape terrain as well, meaning mountains, rivers, and entire landscapes can be modified.

For players who enjoy creativity, the building tools are very flexible. Entire towns, fantasy worlds, or imaginative creations can be constructed. Because everything is made from LEGO bricks, the designs can be colorful, playful, and highly customizable.

The game also includes vehicles and creatures that help players travel around their worlds. Characters can ride horses, dragons, motorcycles, helicopters, and many other vehicles. These options make exploration more exciting and help players reach different areas of each map.

However, despite its creativity, the game does have some weaknesses.

Another issue is that the game does not provide a strong story or clear long-term goals. While exploration and building are fun, some players may feel unsure about what they should do next. Players who prefer structured gameplay with clear objectives might find the open-ended design less engaging.

How We Test Games

For testing games we use a Nintendo Switch firmware version 2H. Hardware includes Joy-con and Pro controller on a large screen TV. Tests are done with up to 5 players. We take turns playing and evaluating games.

Whenever possible we play multiple players. We also use a Nintendo 2DS, DS XL, and for PC games we use a Ryzen 7 1700x CPU, AMD RX580, running on Win 10. This game is up to 2-players on one Nintendo Switch.
