Nancy Drew: Trail of the Twister – Review
Nancy Drew: Trail of the Twister is one of my favorite Nancy Drew PC games. I had a lot of fun crashing the cars, all three of them lol.
Why Trail of the Twister?
Well, this game was a lot of fun to me. It had good puzzles which most of the Nancy Drew PC games do.
Nancy Drew: Trail of the Twister is a fun and challenging mystery game that follows teenage detective Nancy Drew as she investigates a series of mysterious occurrences in the small town of Canute, Oklahoma. The game’s storyline revolves around a series of tornadoes that have been wreaking havoc on the town, and it is up to Nancy to uncover the truth behind the strange events.
One of the standout features of Trail of the Twister is the game’s engaging storyline, which keeps players hooked from start to finish. As Nancy explores the town and interacts with various characters, she uncovers clues and pieces together the puzzle. The game also features a number of challenging puzzles and mini-games that help to break up the gameplay and keep things interesting.
The game’s graphics are well-done, with detailed environments and character models that help to bring the town to life. The voice acting is also top-notch, with Nancy’s voice actress delivering a convincing performance that adds to the overall immersion of the game.
How We Test Games
For testing games we use a Ryzen 7 1700x CPU, AMD RX580, running on Win 10. Tests are done with up to 5 players. We take turns playing and evaluating games.
This game is only 1-player and it’s for PC/MAC. We’ve been playing together on two computers on the Steam version for this game.
Whenever possible we play multiple players. We use a Nintendo Switch firmware version 2H. Hardware includes Joy-con and Pro controller on a large screen TV. We also use a Nintendo 2DS, DS XL.
Pros
This game doesn’t have any scary things like some of the other games do. Like nothing jumps out at you or anything so that’s good. The mystery’s story is intriguing and keeps players interested in solving the case.
The game features a variety of puzzles and mini-games that will test the player’s problem-solving skills. Players have the opportunity to explore different locations and interact with various characters to gather clues and information.
There is some Educational value in this game. Players can learn more about tornadoes and storm-chasing through the game’s storyline.
Cons
Well, one con to me is there were WAY to many mice and mice minigames. But that might just be me.
There is always that con of knowing how the mystery goes when replaying Nancy Drew games. I mean if you wait long enough before playing it again like a year or two then the game’s puzzles and things still are fun. But knowing who the culprit is unlikely to be forgotten.
Summary
Overall, Nancy Drew: Trail of the Twister is a great addition to the long-running Nancy Drew PC game series, offering a compelling storyline, challenging puzzles, and great production values. Fans of mystery games and the Nancy Drew franchise will definitely enjoy this game.
