Cutting Edge Fun: A Dive Into the SnipperClips Game
In the world of puzzle games, Snipperclips stands out as a unique and entertaining game. Snipperclips was one of the first games we purchased for our Nintendo Switch and we still regularly play it after all these years. It’s that good.
Snipperclips is a puzzle type game for 2 to 4 players. It’s unique in that even with 4 players everyone has something to do. Whether it’s coop or vs each player is active. Some puzzle games allow for multiplayers but really only one or two players do all the work. Not so in Snipperclips. Many levels require the maximum effort of 4 players to win.
With its unique blend of creative problem-solving, cooperative gameplay, and delightful art style, Snipperclips is more than just a game—it’s a reason to gather friends and family for hours of collaborative fun.
What Is SnipperClips?
At its core, Snipperclips is a cooperative puzzle game where two or more players control colorful characters—Snip and Clip—who have the ability to cut each other into various shapes to solve puzzles. You cut each other into gears, wedges, sharp points, hooks, U shaped buckets, or whatever shape you can imagine to accomplish a task.
The characters’ playful designs and their quirky interactions bring a sense of whimsy to the game. They are full of reactions and facial expressions the whole time you play. The puzzles range from simple tasks, like fitting into outlines, to more complex challenges that require creative thinking, teamwork, and precise execution.

In my experience the game‘s appeal isn’t just in its puzzles, but in the way it encourages interaction and communication. As we played through each stage, we quickly realized that success is not about speed but about collaboration and teamwork. It’s more about coordinating your moves, strategizing your efforts, and even sacrificing your own character’s shape to help each other. It’s a delightful blend of problem-solving and creativity that never feels repetitive.
A Game Built for Collaboration
Our favorite part of Snipperclips is undoubtedly the cooperative element. Unlike many single-player puzzle games, Snipperclips is best enjoyed with a friend, family member, or anyone willing to embrace a bit of silliness. The simplicity of the controls—using just a few buttons—means players can focus on the puzzle at hand rather than worrying about complicated mechanics.
However, simplicity doesn’t mean easy. As you progress through the game, the puzzles get increasingly intricate and demand more complex cooperation. Many levels aren’t timed so it’s a matter of working out which shape works best, no matter how much time it takes.
There are moments where one player has to clip themselves into the right shape to allow the other to reach an object, or even use themselves as a platform. We found many moments of pure hilarity as we tried to figure out the best way to solve a challenge, often with multiple failed attempts and fits of laughter.
The game’s appeal doesn’t stop at its puzzles. It also offers a lot of fun physically reshaping your characters to fit the task at hand. I haven’t come across many gaming experiences that are this refreshing and fun. It’s the perfect way to bond with others, whether you’re working through a tricky stage or simply trying to create the most absurd shape imaginable.
Bright, Playful Art Style
One of the first things we noticed after booting up Snipperclips is its vibrant and cheerful art style. The game’s world is colorful, warm, and inviting, with minimalist yet charming designs that help to emphasize its lighthearted nature. The characters themselves, Snip and Clip, are round and soft, almost like little paper cut-outs that seem ready to be snipped into fun shapes.
The game’s aesthetic is not just a visual treat; it also fits seamlessly with the game’s premise. Everything in Snipperclips feels like it’s made from paper, adding to the feeling that you’re solving puzzles by crafting and reshaping real-world objects. Each level has a new theme and set of challenges, and the world around you reflects that with vibrant backgrounds and quirky environments.
The Laughter Factor
While puzzles and problem-solving are at the heart of Snipperclips, the real joy comes from the laughter that ensues as players try to figure out how to solve them. Or in cases of particularly ornery players, how many ways there are to prevent a solution.
Watching your friend accidentally (or intentionally) shape themselves into a form that causes more problems than it solves is just part of the fun. And as you both fail and try again, the atmosphere is always light, filled with humor and a sense of camaraderie.

There’s also an undeniable sense of achievement when you finally complete a challenging puzzle. The satisfaction of working together to figure out the solution is incredibly rewarding and really gave us a sense of pride in our teamwork.
Endless Fun with Multiple Players
Snipperclips isn’t just a two-player game. With up to four players in the mix, the level of chaos and fun multiplies. More players means more creative solutions, but also more opportunities for hilarious mistakes. The puzzles evolve to accommodate multiple players, giving everyone a chance to shine—whether they’re helping each other out or causing a bit of mischief. In my experience, this multi-player mode is perfect for parties or family gatherings, ensuring that everyone can get involved.
Why SnipperClips is a Must-Have
Snipperclips is the perfect game for anyone who loves puzzles, creative challenges, or just having a good time with friends. Its intuitive gameplay, charming design, and cooperative nature make it a standout title on the Nintendo Switch. Whether you’re a casual gamer or someone who thrives on solving brain-teasers, Snipperclips offers hours of laughter, teamwork, and fun.
In a gaming world where many titles are focused on competition or solo play, Snipperclips reminds us that sometimes the best experiences are those where you can laugh, cooperate, and create something together. If you haven’t yet given it a try, grab a friend, start snipping, and prepare for a blast of cooperative joy.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a game that’s lighthearted, fun, and filled with moments of shared laughter, Snipperclips is the perfect choice. It doesn’t just challenge your brain—it brings people together in a way few games can. Grab your Joy-Cons, get clipping, and enjoy an experience that’ll have you smiling from start to finish. . .
