Everything Great About Mario Golf: Super Rush

Mario Golf: Super Rush is an unexpected find for the Switch. We’re always on the lookout for fun family friendly games here at Family Game Squad. So of course we gave Mario Golf: Super Rush a try. I have to say it’s a lot better than I expected.

Mario Golf: Super Rush is straight-up awesome, and I’m not just saying that because it’s Mario. This game is seriously next-level when it comes to making golf fun, and yeah, I know that sounds weird, but trust me, this game makes it work.

Similar to Mario Kart, it’s a fun easy game to pick up and play. But there’s also a ton of advanced strategies if you’re really looking for some competitive online play. We’re more casual gamers, so a 4 player co-op is our style but even though this game isn’t co-op we still enjoyed it a lot.

The Speed Golf Mode

Let’s start with the biggest game-changer: Speed Golf. Instead of waiting around while your friends line up their shots, you’re literally sprinting across the course, whacking your ball and sabotaging your opponents with crazy power-ups. It’s chaotic in the best way possible. Plus, it’s hilarious watching Bowser rocket across the fairway like he’s training for a triathlon.

A Very Diverse Rooster

The character roster is fire. You’ve got the classics like Mario, Luigi, and Peach, but also some wild picks like King Bob-omb. Everyone’s got these super moves that make you feel like a total boss. Like, Rosalina literally levitates the ball with star power which is totally cool? It’s not just about looking good, though. Each character has different stats and abilities, so figuring out who’s got the best combo for your style is actually a lot of fun.

A Great Party Night Game

Whether you’re playing with friends at home or taking on people online, multiplayer is where it’s at. The trash talk gets real when someone messes up a putt or totally botches their Speed Golf dash. It’s chaotic, competitive, and just straight-up fun.

The Adventure Mode

Adventure Mode is way more than just a tutorial. You play as your Mii and go from a total rookie to a pro, learning different shots and strategies while hanging out with some iconic Mario characters. It’s like mixing an RPG with golf, which sounds weird but totally works.

Graphics and Vibe

The game looks amazing. Every course has its own vibe, from lush green hills to desert sand traps, and the graphics pop like crazy. Plus, the soundtrack is just so upbeat that it keeps you hyped up the whole time.

Comparable Games

A comparable game to Mario Golf: Super Rush is Mario Tennis Aces. They are both super fun sports games that really bring the Mario flair to the court and the course.

Mario Tennis Aces is all about fast-paced, intense matches. You’re constantly on your toes, smashing shots and pulling off these epic special moves. Mario Golf: Super Rush feels more laid-back until Speed Golf kicks in. Then it’s like controlled chaos with everyone sprinting to their ball.

Adventure Mode in both games is decent. In Super Rush feels you’re leveling up your Mii and going on a golf journey, while Aces has a series of tennis matches strung together with a story about saving Luigi.

If you’re all about fast reflexes and epic rallies, go for Mario Tennis Aces. But if you’re looking for something that mixes strategy with that classic Mario chaos, Mario Golf: Super Rush is your game. Either way, both games are great!

Conclusion: A Fun Co-Op Experience for Everyone

It’s an experience everyone can enjoy, no matter your skill level or age. In my experience it stands out as a great sports game. Whether you’re playing solo or multiplayer, Mario Golf: Super Rush is a very entertaining game.

If you’re looking for a game that’s lowkey addictive but doesn’t take itself too seriously, Mario Golf: Super Rush is great choice. It’s got just the right mix of competition and pure Mario insanity to keep you hooked. Whether you’re a golf fan or not, this game is just pure fun from start to finish. Definitely worth it if you want something fun to play with your friends or just chill on your own. 10/10 would Speed Golf again!
