RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, Another Great Follow Up To A Classic Game

It’s hard to imagine how to improve upon the first two RollerCoaster Tycoon games. Yet, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 does just that. In my opinion, it’s the best of the series.

Released in 2004, the game allows players to design and manage their own amusement park, complete with thrilling rides, exciting attractions, and happy park guests.

One of the most exciting aspect about Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 is the freedom it gives players to let their creativity run wild. I never thought there’d be ways to surpass the second game. Yet, designing intricate rollercoasters that twist and turn through the sky is awesome. Creating even more elaborate themed areas within the park is also possible. Players can customize every aspect of their park, from the layout of the paths to the decorations and landscaping.

For anyone who enjoys customizing their park, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 is a must have game. It’s almost too much customization for my taste. But I appreciate how thorough out all the different themes are. I love the dinosaur themed lights, benches, and decorations.

Technical Details

The upgraded graphics and immersive sound effects make players feel like they are actually running a real-life amusement park. Watching the guests ride the rollercoasters and enjoy the various attractions is great fun.

Also, the game’s dynamic weather effects and day/night cycle add an extra level of realism to the experience. The entertainers are better than ever. Even the guests puking is more detailed. Everything is hilarious to watch.

Gameplay

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 really captures everything exciting about the first two games and builds on it. There are a variety of scenarios and challenges for players to complete.

From building a park from scratch and attracting a certain number of guests to achieving a specific park rating, there’s loads of new goals for you to enjoy. As always, it comes down to players carefully managing their park’s finances, researching new rides and attractions, and keeping their guests happy in order to succeed.

New and Old Features

The 3D map is definitely easier to move around and view than the previous games. It takes getting used to but I prefer this new navigation. You have total control over the camera view.

It makes building a lot better since you don’t have to turn on or off the trees, rides, or layers as much. Simply alter the camera view for a better viewing angle.

One feature continued from the second version of the game is the ability to ride the rollercoasters and other attractions in a first-person view. Obviously, CoasterCam graphics are bigger and better than the previous version.

In addition to the single-player mode, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 also offers a multiplayer mode where players can compete against each other in building the best park. This adds a competitive element to the game and allows players to showcase their creativity and park management skills.

Although I have to admit, the multiplayer mode isn’t very exciting. It’s more about finding out how other people play the game.

Conclusion

Overall, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 is a fun and engaging game that provides hours of entertainment for fans of simulation and strategy games. With its endless customization options, challenging scenarios, and immersive gameplay, it’s no wonder that the game has remained popular among gamers for over a decade. So, grab your virtual ticket and get ready for a wild ride in Rollercoaster Tycoon 3.

I’m David M. I’ve been playing video games a long time, my pong game was fire. Now, my kids run circles around me but we always have a good time. We mostly play party and family games. Strategy and battle games are still among my favorites. I like writing about games almost as much as I do playing them. My favorite games are: Moving Out 2, Out of Space and Overcooked All You Can Eat.
