How To Play Crazy Eights
Crazy Eights is a light card game to play with friends and family. It’s similar to Uno, only much simpler. The goal is to shed all your cards by matching suit or number each turn. Two or more people can play with a standard deck.
The game begins by dealing five cards to each player. The dealer then lays one card face up to start the discard pile. If an eight is turned up it is placed back in the deck and another card is turned up The rest of the deck forms the draw pile.
Players take turns. A player must match the top card by number or suit. A player may play an eight at any time. An eight is like a wild card and lets the player call the next suit. The next player must follow that suit or play another eight.
If a player can’t match the turned up card, they draw a card from the pile until they can match it. Play moves clockwise. The first player with no cards wins the round.
The table may keep score if the group wants a long game. A winner gains a point from each card left in the hands of others. Any eights give five points.
Crazy Eights is great for kids, friends, or family. It’s simple play and few rules make it a easy to learn. Anyone who’s looking for a short and bright contest will enjoy Crazy Eights.

I’m David M. I’ve been playing video games a long time, my pong game was fire. Now, my kids run circles around me but we always have a good time. We mostly play party and family games. Strategy and battle games are still among my favorites. I like writing about games almost as much as I do playing them. My favorite games are: Moving Out 2, Out of Space and Overcooked All You Can Eat.
