Sonic Rumble – Review
We had been waiting for this game for almost a year and when it finally came out we were excited! Sonic Rumble is kinda like Mario Party or Pokemon Unite gameplay wise. Anyway, here is my review for the game.

Why Sonic Rumble?
Sonic Rumble is a multiplayer party game developed by Sega (in collaboration with Rovio Entertainment) that throws Sonic and his friends into chaotic toy-styled arenas where dozens of players compete in fast, ring-collecting survival matches.
The game pits up to 32 players (in early builds) into rounds of timed challenges where the goal ranges from collecting rings to survival, elimination, or finishing first. You play as toy versions of classic characters like Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Dr. Eggman, customising skins and emotes as you go.
The arenas are vibrant and full of platforming hazards, portals, speed boosts and ring pickups. The pace is intended to be fast and chaotic — you dash, dodge, compete for rings, and try to outlast or out-score your opponents.
Visually, the game adopts a toy-world aesthetic: bright colors, playful environments (such as “Toy World” themed by Dr. Eggman), and exaggerated Sonic visuals all contribute to a fun party vibe.
The audio uses familiar Sonic tunes with high-energy beats to match the chaos of multiplayer.

How We Test Games
For testing games we use a Nintendo Switch firmware version 2H. Hardware includes Joy-con and Pro controller on a large screen TV. Tests are done with up to 5 players. We take turns playing and evaluating games.
Whenever possible we play multiple players. We also use a Nintendo 2DS, DS XL, and for PC games we use a Ryzen 7 1700x CPU, AMD RX580, running on Win 10. This game is up to 1-player on with online multiplayer (that’s free) on PC and Mobile devices.
Pros
Fun concept bringing Sonic into large-scale multiplayer party mode.
Accessible gameplay: easy to pick up and jump into matches.
Strong visual identity with colourful arenas and toy-world theme.
Customisation options (skins, emotes) create personal flair.

Cons
As of current reports, some technical issues persist: balance problems, server or delay concerns, and limited global availability.
The core gameplay loop may become repetitive if you play many matches in a row without variety.
Because it’s multiplayer-focused and possibly live-service styled, solo offline content or deep single-player modes appear limited at present.
Monetisation and progression systems (skins, currencies) raise concerns among some players.
Summary
Sonic Rumble presents an exciting new direction for the Sonic franchise — taking its speed and characters into a modern multiplayer party format. If you enjoy quick matches, colourful characters, and competing with friends in chaotic environments, this game has a lot of potential. However, if you’re seeking deep single-player content, highly polished mechanics, or a fully released global version, you may find it lacking until it matures further.
Overall, Sonic Rumble is a fun party contender with Sonic charm — still evolving, but worth checking out for fans of multiplayer mayhem and Sonic characters.
