Snowmobile Racing

Racing games come in all forms and types. One such type is Snowmobile Racing. We tried it out on our Switch and think it’s a good racing game plus a lot of fun as a freestyle game. Although, we might be biased since we love snow and anything winter related.

As a racing game, Snowmobile Racing offers virtually everything any good racing game offers. There’s plenty of tracks and vehicles to choose from. It has drifting, speed boosts, and competition. There aren’t any items so it’s definitely the purest form of racing game. But don’t overlook the freestyle mode.

The freestyle mode offers huge maps to explore. It really gives the feel of cruising around the countryside on a snowmobile. Also, there’s a few ramps here and there to try your hand at jumping a snowmobile. The crashes and tumbling are much safer than in real life.

Snowmobile Racing isn’t as intense or visually appealing as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, still, for a racing game it is a lot of fun.

Why Clue Card Game?

Anyone who enjoys racing games would like Snowmobile Racing. The racing aspect of this game is top notch. Drifting around on a snowmobile with all the snow flying is an experience not found on many racing games. Definitely worth checking out to any racing enthusiasts.

It also has an open world appeal. Anyone who enjoys goofing around with multiple players in a gaming platform should check out this game. Simple games like tag, follow the leader, hide and seek or even joust are much better on a snowmobile.

How We tested Snowmobile Racing

We tested this game with 1, 2, 3, and 4 players. We tested both the racing and freestyle modes. All tracks, sleds, and rules were tested as well.

Comparable Games

As much as I like Snowmobile Racing, it just isn’t on the same level as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or Sonic Racing CrossWorlds. It’s actually more like Mantis Burn Racing or Need for Speed.

All these racing games have a somewhat realistic feel as opposed to being cartoon worlds. Snowmobile Racing has a very realistic feel to it. The speed boost is as close to an item box as it gets.

Like the other games, Snowmobile Racing rewards you for mastering braking, drifting, and boosting. These racing games are about taking good racing lines around corners and avoiding obstacles on the straightaways to win.

Pros and Cons

The best part of Snowmobile Racing is the realistic feel of being on a snowmobile. Snow flying everywhere. Falling off your sled. Jumping and drifting are awesome. Just goofing around on a snowmobile in the freestyle mode is a ton of fun.

The racing physics are unique, but in a good way in my opinion. Drifting with a snowmobile isn’t the same as drifting with a car. Braking is very different too. The physics of this game can be a good thing or bad thing depending on whether you like different.

One of the drawbacks is no items. This game could use a little more chaos. Crashes are great to watch, but don’t happen very often.

Another minor drawback is the scenery. It’s great as far as it goes, but it’s all snow and trees. Snow and trees as for as the eye can see. A bear or moose getting in your way every now and then would be a nice touch.

Review Summary

Our Snowmobile Racing game review gives it 7 out of 10 stars. We really enjoyed both the racing and open world this game offered. However, winter is our favorite season so we didn’t get bored by the lack of variety in the scenery.

Snowmobile Racing offers very unique racing physics. It took a little time to get used to, but I think it makes for a great racing experience. Snowmobile Racing is worth checking out to any racing enthusiast!

I’m David M. I’ve been playing video games a long time, my pong game was fire. Now, my kids run circles around me but we always have a good time. We mostly play party and family games. Strategy and battle games are still among my favorites. I like writing about games almost as much as I do playing them. My favorite games are: Moving Out 2, Out of Space and Overcooked All You Can Eat.
