Hello Kitty Party Land – Review
Hello Kitty Party Land is a recently released party game for the Switch and we love both Hello Kitty and Party games so we just couldn’t wait for it to go one sale! We excepted the game to be good but it was GREAT! The minigames are all centered on working together rather than against like most party games and the characters are all so cute! Anyway, in my review for the game you can learn more.

Why Hello Kitty Party Land?
Hello Kitty Party Land, released October 29, 2026, is a cozy Sanrio party game for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. It comes from developer G-STYLE and Sanrio Games, with Bandai Namco publishing in the West. We played it ourselves, and this review pairs our experience with the official game details and early critic coverage from launch week.
You pick an avatar and a partner from 16 playable Sanrio characters, then explore a small hub town packed with more than 145 characters. Up to four players can join locally or online, and the AI fills any empty seats. The game offers more than 45 mini-games, board-game-style modes, and side activities like fishing, farming, music, and dress-up.
The twist is that it plays cooperatively. Mini-games and boards are built around shared goals instead of backstabbing, which makes it a gentler cousin of Mario Party. That is a smart angle for families, new players, and anyone who dreads friendships ending over a lost coin.

How We Test Games
For testing games we use a Nintendo Switch firmware version 2H. Hardware includes Joy-con and Pro controller on a large screen TV. Tests are done with up to 5 players. We take turns playing and evaluating games.
Whenever possible we play multiple players. We also use a Nintendo 2DS, DS XL, and for PC games we use a Ryzen 7 1700x CPU, AMD RX580, running on Win 10. This game is up to 4-players on one Nintendo Switch.
Pros
Adorable presentation. The 3D character models are the star. Reviewers keep praising how good the Sanrio cast looks on Switch 2, with round, colorful designs that make every cutscene and menu a pleasure to look at.
Cooperative play lowers the pressure. Because everyone works toward the same goal, nobody gets eliminated or humiliated. The game is easy to pick up and still tense enough to keep experienced players engaged, which makes mixed-skill groups work well.
Plenty of things to do. Beyond the mini-games, you can customize your avatar, collect character stickers, shop for outfits, fish, farm, and make music. Solo players in particular get extra ways to spend time in Party Land.
A dream for Sanrio fans. Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, My Melody, Gudetama, and Hello Kitty all show up, and the partner system gives each playthrough a bit of personality. Famitsu reviewers called out the character appeal and a clever feature that lets players start mini-games while others move across the board.
Easy to jump into. Controls are simple, the games are short, and it supports TV, tabletop, and handheld modes. Anyone can join a session in seconds.

Cons
Only three boards. For a party game, three boards is thin. Mario Party fans will notice quickly, and replay value suffers once you have seen each one.
High Price. The game is costly. Some players might suggest waiting for a sale unless you are a devoted Sanrio fan.
Summary
Overall, Hello Kitty Party Land is a charming, polished, and very kind party game that knows exactly who it is for: kids, families, and Sanrio devotees. Its cooperative design is a refreshing change, and the visuals are a treat. We enjoyed it a lot. Yes, with only three boards, a pricey tag, and mini-games that do not always land, it falls short of the genre’s best, and some critics have scored it closer to 6 out of 10. But the warmth, the cooperative fun, and the sheer charm won us over, and other reviewers have scored it higher too.
Score: 9/10
Recommended for families with young kids and Sanrio fans, ideally on sale. If you want competitive chaos with friends, stick with Mario Party.
